.BE is the so-called country code Top-Level-Domain (ccTLD) of Belgium
A .BE Domain is normally used by companies or private entities who are located in Belgium or who have business relationships with Belgium.
* Minimum: 3
* Maximum: 63
* Letters and numbers
* Hyphens ("-"), however not at the beginning or directly in front of the TLD
.BE domains can be registered online through webinterface or API.
In order to change the owner of a .BE domain you have to request a trade.
This can be done through our webinterface or through our API:
[COMMAND]
  command = TradeDomain
  domain = yourdomain.be
  ownercontact0 =
EOF
You have to state the contact handle of the new owner. Please remember that the registry does not allow handle updates. Please do always create a new
contact handle and do not use modified contact handles.
The old owner and the new owner will be receive an email from the registry which has to be approved.
A trade is handled and charged like a new registration. The period of the domain is reset to one year.
As .BE domains can only be registered on a yearly basis, they cannot be renewed explicitly. To renew a .BE domain you have to set the domain renewal mode or default renewal mode to "AUTORENEW" or "RENEWONCE".
.BE Domains can be deleted online throught the Delete Command.
None.
* .BE Transfers are possible. Upon successfully transfering a .BE domain, it is automatically renewed for one year.
* Please note that when a .BE Domain is transferred successfully, then the registration period starts from the beginning!
* You can initiate a .BE domain transfer either through the RRPproxy WebInterface or through the Socket-Access. Please remember that you must have a signed request from the owner of the domain.
* After you have initiated the domain transfer through the RRPproxy, the official Registry DNS.BE send the request to the Licensee (Registrant) of the domain asking for confirmation.
* A .BE Domain Transfer can stay active up to one month. Then a new transfer must be started / initiated. If the Licensee (Registrant) does not confirm the transfer within two weeks (via email), then he can still do so, by sending a confirmation fax directly to DNS.BE.
* If possible, please inform your old provider prior to initiating the transfer, so that the transfer is not rejected.
* Double-check if the respective domain has already been paid for and that there are not any open issues with the old registrar
* The transfer is always initiated with the new provider / registrar.
* Start the transfer in time and not just shortly before the expiration date of your domain, because otherwise the transfer could fail.
After a transfer has been started, the domain-owner will receive an Email by DNS.be asking for confirmation. In case, that the customer does not confirm the transfer it will fail after 14 days.
If the email was not received by the domain owner the transfer can also be approved by fax at DNS.be.
.BE restores are possible. Please contact our support team at support@rrpproxy.net.
For .BE domains it is possible to restore domains deleted by another registrar. This "transfer from quarantine" can be manually initiated by our team for the doubled cost of a normal restore.
''Please note, that the transfer from quarantine has to be confirmed by the registrant as with a normal transfer.''
