Change of Registrant

All contact information with the exception of registrant Name, Firstname and Organisation can be updated through the ModifyDomain command.

Please note that EURid does not support handle updates. You have to create a new handle containing the same information for Name, Firstname and Organisation as well as the updated contact information and attach it to the domain wit the ModifyDomain command.

In order to change the owner of a .EU domain you have to request a trade.

This can be done through our web interface or through our API:
 [COMMAND]
     command = TradeDomain
     domain = yourdomain.be
     ownercontact0 =
 EOF

You have to state the contat handle of the new owner. Please remember that the registry does not allow handle updates. Please do always create a new contact handle and do not use modified contact handles.

The old owner and the new owner will be receive an email from the registry which has to be approved.

A trade is handled and charged like a new registration. The period of the domain is reset to one year.

Domain Renewal

As .EU domains can only be registered on a yearly basis, they cannot be renewed explicitly. To renew a .EU domain you have to set the domain renewal mode or default renewal mode to "AUTORENEW" or "RENEWONCE".

Deletion Process

.EU Domains can be deleted online throught the Delete Command.

Restrictions

The following categories of companies, organisations and individuals will be able to register a .eu domain:

* undertakings having their registered office, central administration or principal place of business within the European Community;
* organisations established within the European Community without prejudice to the application of national law;
* natural persons resident within the European Community.

Transfers

Transfers are possible. Upon successfully transfering a .EU domain, it is automatically renewed for one year.

Transfer procedure

Using E-Mail Authorization

* You can initiate a .EU domain transfer either through the RRPproxy WebInterface or through the Socket-Access. Please remember that you must have a signed request from the owner of the domain.
* After you have initiated the domain transfer through the RRPproxy, the official Registry EURid sends the request to the Licensee (Registrant) of the domain asking for confirmation.
* A .EU Domain Transfer can stay active up to seven days. Then a new transfer must be started / initiated. If the Licensee (Registrant) does not confirm the transfer within seven days (via email), then he can still do so, by sending a confirmation fax directly to EURid in the following 7 days (href="http://www.eurid.eu/en/eu-domain-names/trades-transfers/fax-number-and-confirmation-templates)." >http://www.eurid.eu/en/eu-domain-names/trades-transfers/fax-number-and-confirmation-templates]).

Using a Transfer Code

* The transfer code of a domain can be requested
** by the domain owner in the EURid extranet at href="http://enduser.eurid.eu/public/enduser/EnduserGetLoginForm.htm" >http://enduser.eurid.eu/public/enduser/EnduserGetLoginForm.htm]
** by the gaining registrar. If you want to request the transfer code for a domain located on your account, please send an email to support@rrpproxy.net.
* The transfer code will be sent to the registered owner's email address.
* The transfer can be requested using the TransferDomain command. The transfer code will have to be stated in the auth parameter.
* If a transfer has been requested with authorization code, the transfer will not have to be approved again by the domain owner.

Transfer time

A transfer will usually take 1-2 days.
