.ES is the so-called country code Top-Level-Domain (ccTLD) of Spain.
An .ES Domain is normally used by companies or private entities who are located in Spain or who have business relationships with Spain.

* Letters and numbers
* Hyphens ("-"), however not at the beginning or directly in front of the TLD
* Possible IDN characters are: á, à, é, è, í, ï, ó, ò, ú, ü, ñ, ç and l·l (the .ES IDN landrush starts Dec. 12th)
.ES domains can be registered online through webinterface or API.

Ownership changes can only be done in written form at Nic.ES. The required forms must be signed by the owner and can be generated at href="http://pdf.rrpproxy.net" >http://pdf.rrpproxy.net] or href="http://www.formgenerator.net." >http://www.formgenerator.net]. The registration period will stay unchanged.
All other contact data as well as the nameservers can be changed easily through our system.
Please notice that Nic.ES does not support contact handle updates. Therefore you need to create a new handle in our system.
Furthermore a copy of an identification card has to be attached.
As .ES domains can only be registered on a yearly basis, they cannot be renewed explicitly. To renew an .ES domain, you have to set the domain renewal mode or default renewal mode to "AUTORENEW" or "RENEWONCE".
Is the process necessary for you to complete a domain deletion:
The procedure is as follows:
* The deletion is initiated through our system.
* The Owner / Admin-C (PCA) gets an email where he is asked to approve the deletion

Domain Transfers are possible. The domain is not renewed upon a successful transfer, so the expiration date of the domain will stay the same.
* Request the transfer through our system.
* The Owner / Admin-C (PCA) gets an email where he is asked to approve the transfer within 10 days
* To approve the transfer the admin-c has to log on to https://www.nic.es/esnic/jsp/Login_UR.jsp with his NICES Handle which is shown in the WHOIS.
* Then the admin-c must choose "Solicitudes > Lista de solicitudes" from the menu and look for the respective domain name with status PENDPCA in the list and then click on the reference number (first column of the table). At the bottom of the next page he can choose "Realizar Transferencia de Domino" in order to transfer the domain name.
If the password is unknown it can be requested at https://www.nic.es/esnic/jsp/Login_UR.jsp by typing the NICES Handle in the field "IDENTIFICADOR:" and then choosing "Recuperar Contrasena".
The transfer will finish as soon as the admin-c has approved the transfer.
